Artist's Description
Located on SC512 (Cade Road) in Williamsburg County, South Carolina, Cooper's Academy, built in 1905-06, was a private boarding school for black children of the community until 1927 and a public school from 1927-1958. It was founded by Moses Cooper, H.J. Cooper and Ada E. Martin.
About Linda Brown
As a photographer in rural South Carolina, I attempt to capture life in the country today, as well as during an earlier time. Barns, country roads, churches, birds and blooms are all a part of the rural South–and rural America, in general, for that matter. Feel free to browse as much you like. You can buy prints or cards, or just step away from life's busyness for a few minutes. Have fun!
